Álvaro Lozano

Baritone and Conductor, born in Madrid, he finished his Piano higher studies at "Teresa Berganza" Conservatory in Madrid in 2002 and performed at the Conservatorio Superior de Música in Madrid in 2003, obtaining the "Premio de Honor". He studied Chamber Music, Violin and Orchestra Conduct with Miguel Zanetti.

He is currently the protagonist of a great project called: Operaforall: https://www.operaforall.ca/

He studied with Wolfram Rieger a singer and pianist in the liederist repertoire course, deepens vocal and interpretive technique with Jorge Uribe, Ana Luisa Chova, Miguel Zanetti, Roberto Scandiuzzi, Alessandro Corbelli, Regina Resnik, Lorenzo Regazzo, Paolo Washington, Claudio Desderi, Enza Ferrari, Carlo Meliciani.

Winner of scholarships of the "Musical Youths of Spain" in 2002 and 2004 in the Contest "Toti Dal Monte" edition 2006, Álvaro Lozano wins numerous competitions like: First Prize "Giulio Neri" (Siena 2008); First Prize "Matera Città dei Sassi" (Matera 2008); Public Award to the Inter-national Contest "Montserrat Caballè" (Zaragoza, 2009).

After his debut in 1998 as a soloist in the Mass in G Major by Franz Schubert (Municipal Orchestra of Madrid) he has performed numerous works in Italy, especially the traditional lyric repertoire:  L’Uomo in Salvo d’Acquisto by Antonio Fortunato (Treviso,2004); Il Cuoco in La Casa dei Morti by L. Janacek (Teatro Real, Madrid, 2006); Figaro in Il Barbiere di Siviglia by G. Rossini (Teatro Malibran, Venezia, 2007); Dottor Malatesta in Don Pasquale by G. Donizetti (Teatro Malibran, Venezia, 2007); Don Giovanni in Don Giovanni by W. A. Mozart (Teatro Alfieri, Asti, 2008); Figaro in Le Nozze di Figaro by W. A. Mozart (Teatro Comunale,Vittorio Veneto, 2008); Schaunard in La Bohème  by G. Puccini (Opera Festival, Firenze, 2008); Belcore in  Elisir d’amore by G. Donizetti (Teatro Goldoni, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Firenze, 2008); Rigoletto in Rigoletto  by G. Verdi (Teatro Marrucino, Chieti, 2009); Dandini in La Cenerentola  by G. Rossini (Teatro Alfieri, Asti, 2009); Giorgio Germont in La Traviata by G. Verdi Teatro Marrucino, Chieti, 2009); Guglielmo in Così fan tutte by Mozart (Padova, Auditorium Pollini, 2009), Malatesta in Don Pasquale al Teatro Manzoni (Pistoia 2010).

The baritone Alvaro Lozano is also dedicated to the sacred repertoire, Chamber Music and the Zarzuela, he has sung in: Requiem by G. Fauré (Treviso, 2004); Il Natale del Redentore by Lorenzo Perosi (Treviso, 2005); Misa de Gloria by P. Mascagni (Vicenza, Treviso, 2006); Mottetto per San Paolino and Misa de Gloria by G. Puccini (57th Santander International Festival, 2008); Ein Deutsches Requiem by J. Brahms (Chieti, 2008); Dichterliebe op.48 by R. Schumann (Pistoia, 2009); Opera Recital at the "Santander International Festival 2009"; Der Schulmeister by G. Telemann (Teatro Puccini, Firenze, 2009); Theresienmesse by J. Haydn (Firenze, 2009).

He studied theatrical interpretation with Juan Aguillar, working as an actor in the "Compañía de Teatro Clásico Nacional" of Madrid.

Since 2008 he is musical director of the project "All'Opera" for the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino (Italy), in the Communal Theater of Florence.

He is currently Conductor of the Youth Orchestra Ciudad de Salamanca
